Urban Gardening Inspiration!

Hello again!

We have been super busy here at The Flower Place!

We have only been at this house for a year now but our small courtyard has gone from stark and empty to green and filled with life. It is amazing the transformation that plants create in a space!

It is the begining of October and Summer is definately on its way! our sweet peas are in full bloom, our succulents are fattening up and all of our summer seedlings are popping their heads above the ground. It is such a joyous time of year to be in the garden!

so far we have started planting our tomato's (black cherry's, romas and some oxhearts) and some heirloom varieties of beetroots and radishes, we have also planted tons of herb seeds.

It really is so rewarding to watch something grow from a tiny seed!

Our berry bushes are streching out and starting to climb, our fig trees are full of leaves and our orchids are about to come into flower, what a wonderful time of year!

Some Tips For Your Garden...

- Dont forget to start planting your summer veg seeds! space out your planting at 2 week intervals to ensure a continuos crop for your home.

- It is starting to get hotter and nasty bugs are bound to start the attack, make sure you have your bug sprays ready. Margret Roberts has some amazing products for these issues.

- Your winter crops will be coming to an end soon, dont forget to enjoy them and continue harvesting!

- Orchids need more water during the hot seasons, increase watering to 1 cup twice per week.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and i look forward to your comments!

Happy Gardening!
